"A Danish politician, Anders Samuelson visiting Singapore has been told that if he speaks at a meeting promoting demoracy in Singapore he will be arrested."

Laughing

isn't our country supposed to support democracy?
so if someone wants to speak up for democracy then how come our garmen is against it?

elindra SG

They hit on you? Twisted Evil

Actually be it musicals or plays
I find that some Singaporeans are extremely rude
They start leaving the theater before the ovation is over

but till then, all i can do is stay in singapore and cry Crying or Very sad

honeymouse SG

Lucky you. I only started seeing more musicals in recent years. The first musical I went was Singing in the rain, about 3-4 years ago.

Lion King is pretty good too. We saw that last year. Wink

kopiosatu SG

i sing song also

fao neuk teung het gaan dton tee rak gan man yang in nai hua jai

Recalling to the event of the moment when we loved each other, it's still inside my heart.

av98m SG

Shit, some leave halfway, many forget to turn off their fucking phones, a number somehow refuse to fucking turn up on time and get upset whent hey're turned away, and its funny how people can develop coughing fits for no fucking reason during a performance Confused

elindra SG

Oh yeah we get those
The thing is we find (SO & me) thinks that alot of Singaporeans go to a play or musical thinking it is the cinema (and it's considered rude in the cinema) already

the Bear SG

coughing fits must be attempts to stifle laughter gone awry...

sometimes, it's not meant to be funny but it just ends up being funny... like the Phantom of the Opera movie.. one of the funniest comedies around.. Razz

elindra SG

The only thing I have yet to convince Chris to go with me is to a SSO concert Laughing

I love going to musicals and plays coz it gives me an excuse to dress up

honeymouse SG

Oh really? That's rude.... did these people think they are in the cinema? Even though it is wrong doing that in cinemas too. Mad

Thought I heard someone on this forum complained about people bringing kids to the Phantom and the kids were running around during the performance. Wonder why kids are allowed in the first place?!

Luckily in Australia, we don't have that problem. Everyone knows how to behave themselves. Most people dress/suit up to go to the theatre. People treat it as a formal outing. Also, it's not cheap either, cost about $102 for a good seat.

elindra SG

I stole this from another thread but I really love what they did to the Snowy Owl pictures Laughing

tare SG

well we are in SG u noe Rolling Eyes some are blind [to sign saying please switch off ur hp]; some are deaf [to others hissing "sssshhh" at them]; most are plain assholes! Evil or Very Mad

here it's NOT cheap either... phantom costs $148 [i think or issit 185?] tat's why i nvr go... Crying or Very sad

av98m SG

errr...no lor, even piano performance they also cough, and its EXTRA irritating when that happens Mad

stellazio SG

u mean the coughing chain effect? Laughing

the Bear SG

oh yah.. just had my "Fire Safety Tabletop Exercise/Fire Drill Briefing" a while ago... it's hilarious some of the "exercise injects" Laughing

one of them was ".. there is a burning smell at the public area and ther are 2 members of the public fighting"

what do you do?

i told them i'd join in the fight

the Bear SG

to those, i recommend an overdose of strepsils.. which is what i'm doing to myself now.. Razz

i still think it's bad karma from tekaning the senior citizens yesterday Razz

honeymouse SG

There are too many inconsiderate people around. So annoying!!! Mad Evil or Very Mad

Wow $148 is very expensive for Singapore? $102 is expensive enough for us especially 2 of us for $204.00. Neutral

av98m SG
